Advocacy Planning Committee

The Advocacy Planning Committee (APC) is a group of LEAD Coalition members, hand selected for a grant opportunity to work together to develop strategies, plan initiatives, and coordinate advocacy efforts on behalf of Latino students in the public education system. The APC serves as a resource in developing advocacy strategies for coalition policy priorities, research projects, and events.

The APC works closely with Hispanic Federation staff to support the coalition’s advocacy efforts by developing and implementing strategies that will help achieve our overall mission: obtaining equity in the education system for Latino students.

The Advocacy Planning Committee provides strategic guidance and support in the following areas of focus:

Internationals Network transforms education for immigrant and refugee multilingual learners by helping schools and districts better serve those students. Internationals has developed a comprehensive approach to the education of immigrant and refugee MLLs and broadened their impact by sharing proven best practices and influencing policy for MLLs. Internationals designs new schools, coaches leaders, teachers, and school staff, and provides access to a collaborative, robust network of support and learning for those who work with us. In the world of education reform, Internationals Network has become a leading voice in the education of immigrant and refugee multilingual learners across NYC and beyond.
